From the recent past, pandals and it’s conceptual structures have gained colossal importance and each of these is done so beautifully and intricately. Each and every of these pandals tells an amazing story through its elements and installations of its own, Ray tries and successfully captures the beauty. “Photography is actually no rocket science, it’s just a sense of light and the frame and the passion for it fuels it right”, says Mukul Ray. He has always been an enthusiast when it comes to art and photography, he believes there is an uncanny resemblance in an artist and a photographer, as they both try to bring out the character as what they visualize through their eyes. Ray’s pictures on Instagram are bespoke and capture the right essence of the elements and tell a different story altogether, the story that the cameraman wants to tell. One of his recent posts shows an installation of one such Durga Puja pandal, where a mother holds and caresses her baby! While most people miss noticing these elements, Ray captures these fantastically.
These installations are landed with humongous effort, artists work day and night to create these so that the people in the city can see them and enjoy the beautiful creations, however, after the 5 festive days most of these installations are found in ramshackle and people forget, “I try to capture these and keep them in my memory book forever, trying my bit to save them from the oblivion’s curse ” adds the 24-year-old.
Mukul aspires to not let his passion and love for photography die down and intends to definitely take this ahead in the future in a big way. Ray’s Instagram aesthetics is something really noteworthy.
